The event sees participants pay up to $400 so as to drive five to six laps around the track.

The track is operated by Petty Holdings and it offered a statement stating that, "On behalf of everyone in the organization, it is with a very heavy heart that we extend our deepest sympathies to those involved in today's tragic accident in Orlando."
