The Ducati GP 15 is a completely new bike, in comparison with the previous model. It has a new chassis and design. At the beginning of this season, riders announced that it is a great bike and very different from a previous model. It looks different and goes different!
The interesting thing is that GP 15 is more user-friendly than its predecessor. The major improvements are in the software department. Ducati had a major success with software on its previous model, GP 14.3. They transferred all that knowledge to the new model, which makes it even better and faster! Besides speed, that software will be more adjustable, so the bike can perform better in different conditions.
Ducati GP 15 is a real masterpiece. It has a 90° V4, 1.000cc four-stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC engine, with four valves per cylinder! It is capable of producing more than 240hp! With great aerodynamics, it can reach more than 340km/h (211mph). Transmission is DST (Ducati Seamless Transmission) and it uses a chain (D.I.D Chain).
Equally impressive is indirect electronic injection. It has 4 throttle bodies, located below and above the butterfly valves. This is controlled by the completely new Throttle Control &Feedback system (EVO 2 TCF). Lubricant is a Shell Advance Ultra 4 and the fuel that powers this bike is Shell Racing V-Power.
The exhaust system is Akrapovic, specially designed for this bike! Ducati GP 15 uses Bridgestone 16.5" tires, in front and rear. Brakes are Brembo, of course, (two 320mm/340mm carbon front discs, with 4 pistons calipers at the front and one stainless steel rear disc with 2 piston calipers at the rear wheel). Beside all this technology and power, it weighs only 158kg (348lbs).
